Trend: de witte keuken

Zuiver, scherp, helder: Een witte keuken is een ideale omgeving voor de hobby kok, het maakt niet uit of je stijl klassiek of hedendaags, stads of landelijk is. Het gebruik van de kleur wit, maakt je keuken niet alleen luchtiger en  groter lijkend, het biedt ook een schoon canvas voor het in het voetlicht brengen van andere elementen om een uitnodigende, betoverende en functionele keuken te maken. Houtafwerkingen lijken rijker tegen een witte achtergrond en verlichtingsarmaturen zoals kroonluchters en ander hanglampen onderscheiden zich als beeldhouwkunst tegen de neutrale achtergrond.

Wit is dan ook niet voor niks de meest verkochte kleur voor keukens, zowel in hoogglans als mat. Voorheen werden witte keukens vooral gecombineerd met een zwart blad, maar je ziet steeds vaker de witte bladen opduiken. De keuken oogt hierdoor strakker en ruimtelijker.  We zien voornamelijk keukenbladen van materialen als; marmer, graniet en quartz steen. Fabrikanten spelen hierop in, fabrikanten hebben bijvoorbeeld steeds meer witte hoogglans appartatuur in hun collectie. Als je veel wittinten met elkaar combineert, krijg je een warme uitstraling. Door verschillende structuren te gebruiken, zoals hoogglans kasten en matte muren creër je ook een bijzonder effect.

Scheepvaart stijl

In deze zeekust New Jersey keuken, ontworpen door design team Carl d’Aquino en Francine Monaco, maakt een strook van blauwe glastegels, door Glacier van Town & Country Flooring, een sterk visueel standpunt midden in de expansieve witte keukenkasten. De barstoelen in walnoot hout zijn van Norman Cherner en de  Cicatrice de luxe kroonluchter zijn van Philippe Starck gemaakt voor Flos.

Wit op Wit

Een lange, ruime keuken in een huis net buiten Boston, mixt tinten van wit en grijs op een voortreffelijke manier. Het werkblad van Calcutta Gold marmer is een aanvulling op de glanzende witte keukenkasten en combineerd uitstekend met het boommotief op het voorste keukenblok. Een paar van de kristal-kralen hanglampen van Chimera geven de eigentijdse keuken een vleugje Glamour.

Moderne mix

Een gewelfd plafond en de heldere witte muren geven deze keuken een ruimtelijk gevoel terwijl de houten accenten, te vinden in het raamkozijn, onder het keukenblad en tegen de linkerwand, de ruimte verzachten met een rustiek tintje. De leder-en-staal stoelen, van Jasper morrison voor Cappellini, geven samen met het gebruikte RVS de keuken een moderne touch.

De artistieke uitstraling

Een trio van hangende houten planken biedt ruimte voor een artistieke weergave van deze New Jersey keuken van ontwerper Ian Cairl. Het witte thema omvat marmeren muren, wit geschilderde kasten en een groot keukeneiland met daarop een stenen blad van marmer.

Zwart-Wit & Rustiek

In de Connecticut keuken van accesoire-ontwerpers Richard Lambertson en John Truex, herhalen witte kasten en spekstenen werkbladen het pallet van de zwart-wit geblokte marmeren vloer. Een onbewerkte houten balk geeft een natuurlijk tintje aan de landelijke keuken, terwijl een fabrieks krukje een industrieel chic tintje aan de op maat gemaakte keuken geeft.

Oud en Nieuw

De Boston keuken van de architecten Scott Slarsky en Katrina Edlund speelt in op zowel het historische karakter van de bruinsteen als de modernistische gevoeligheden van de huiseigenaren. De kamer is van vloer tot plafond wit geschilderd, inclusief de ornamenten en sierlijsten op het plafond. Poul Henningsen’s Artisjok kroonluchter hangt centraal in de ruimte, terwijl een antiek notenhouten secretaris perfect op zijn plek staat naast een van de transparante Ghost stoelen van Philippe Starck voor Kartell.

Trend: the white kitchen

The use of white not only makes a kitchen look bigger and airier, it also provides a clean canvas for showcasing other elements to create an inviting, enchanting, and functional kitchen. Wood finishes look richer against white; printed fabrics pop even more; and lighting fixtures such as chandeliers and pendants stand out as sculptural elements against the neutral backdrop.

White is not for nothing the most popular color for kitchens, in both glossy and matte. Previously, white kitchens especially combined with a black top, but you see more and more popping up the white tops so the kitchen looks tighter and more spacious. We mainly see materials for the tops as marble, granite and quartz stone. Manufactures are responding to this, for example, manufactures has more and more white gloss equipment in their collection. If you’re combining a lot of whites, you get a warm feeling. By different structures, such as high gloss cabinets and matt walls you create a special effect.

Nautical Appeal

In this seaside New Jersey kitchen by design team Carl D’Aquino and Francine Monaco, a swath of blue glass tiles by Glacier from Town & Country Flooring makes a strong visual statement amid the expansive white cabinetry. White on White

A sleek, spacious kitchen in a home outside Boston mixes shades of white and gray to excellent effect. Countertops of Calcutta Gold marble complement the glossy white cabinets and combines perfectly with the tree design on the front kitchen unit. A pair of crystal beaded pendant lamps from Chimera injects the contemporary space with a shot of glamour.

Modern Mix

A vaulted ceiling and bright white walls give this kitchen its airy feel, while wood accents—which frame the windows and appliances and are also found beneath the counter—soften the space with a rustic touch. The leather-and-steel stools, by Jasper Morrison for Cappellini, give together with the stainless steel a modern touch to the kitchen.

Artistic Display

A trio of floating wood shelves provides space for an artistic display in this New Jersey kitchen by designer Ian Cairl. The white theme includes marble walls, painted cabinets, and a large island topped with two slabs of marble.

Black -White & Rustic

Old and New

The Boston kitchen of architects Scott Slarsky and Katarina Edlund plays up both the historic nature of the brownstone as well as the homeowners modernist sensibilities. The room was painted white from floor to ceiling, including the ornate ceiling medallion and molding. Poul Henningsen’s Artichoke chandelier takes center stage, while an antique walnut secretary looks perfectly in place beside one of a pair of transparent Ghost chairs by Philippe Starck for Kartell.
