Maatwerk interieur..Hoe en Waarom?

  We zijn gewend aan het kopen van kant en klare meubels. What we see is what we get, zo zijn er geen teleurstellingen. Tijdschriften en grote winkelketens promoten de verkoop van massaal geproduceerde kasten die meestal afkomstig zijn uit Azië. Het feit dat ze afkomstig zijn uit Azië, betekent niet dat ze van slechtere kwaliteit zijn, maar de originaliteit is afgenomen. Deze producten komen in duizenden.

Zo langzamerhand zijn we moe van de commercieel opgedrongen producten en zijn we op zoek naar iets origineels. Het kopen van een op maat gemaakt interieur geeft een hoop voordelen. Producten zijn speciaal voor ons gemaakt, zodat ze feilloos in de ruimtes passen. Er zijn veel kleuren, lijstwerk en andere architectonische details beschikbaar, zodat het product een deel van het huis wordt en het kan vaak worden geïntegreerd in de wand of een deel van het totale houtwerk. Het op maat gemaakte interieur geeft een goede achtergrond voor moderne of antieke stukken.

Maar is het makkelijk om iets te kopen dat je niet ziet?

De tijden zijn veranderd en je hoeft niet naar een timmerman om een op maat gemaakt interieur te laten maken. Er zijn bedrijven met showrooms waar u de producten kunt zien en aanraken. Dit is het belangrijkste onderdeel bij het selecteren van een bedrijf.


 Deze bedrijven hebben  ervaring om goed te adviseren en ze werken met de nieuwste 3D-programma’s om een zeer realistisch ontwerp te maken.

Het proces is voor u makkelijk en maakt het mogelijk om het hele interieur van het huis te visualiseren. Het is in het voordeel van deze bedrijven om het product zo goed mogelijke te visualiseren om misverstanden te voorkomen. Als u kiest voor een goed bedrijf zal er geen twijfel zijn over het eindresultaat.

Maar is dit duur?

Dit is afhankelijk van het bedrijf waar u voor kiest. Een enkel timmermansbedrijf heeft de neiging duur te zijn als die een kleine capaciteit heeft.De materialen en de vaste kosten zijn vergelijkbaar met die van de grote ondernemingen. Ons onderzoek toont aan dat een middel groot bedrijf het beste is qua prijs en de aangeboden diensten.

De prijzen van op maat gemaakte meubels variëren, maar doordat de markt erg competitief is, neigen de op maat gemaakte meubelen in prijs gelijk te zijn met meubels van goede kwaliteit. De tijden zijn veranderd en met een groeiende populariteit van op maat gemaakte interieurs zijn er goede en betaalbare bedrijven op de markt.

Wat is een goed maatwerk bedrijf?

Er zijn veel keuzes op de markt, maar niet alle  bieden echte op maat gemaakte producten. Bij een echt maatwerk bedrijf zijn de opties gratis, de maten van de deur wordt bepaald door de ruimte etc. Er zijn een aantal prijs verschillen met het gebruik van standaard lijsten of als u wilt, speciaal op maat gemaakt, maar aan het eind moeten de meubels eruit zien als een geheel en passend zijn in de ruimte. Een professioneel bedrijf bouwt de projecten in de werkplaats en installeerd het daarna in 1-2 dagen in uw huis. Het is niet gebruikelijk dagen bezig te zijn in uw huis, zeker niet als u er al woont.

I believe we are used to buying readymade furniture. What we see is what we get, so there are no disappointments. The interior magazines promote the massively produced cabinets which mostly come from Asia. The fact that they are coming from Asia doesn’t mean that are of worse quality but the originality is taken away as the products come in thousands.

So slowly we get tired of the commercially forced upon us products and we are looking for something original. Buying a custom made interior gives a lot of advantages. Things are made especially for us so we can design a perfect product, which flawlessly blends into the spaces. Colors, moldings and other architectural details are available so the product becomes a part of the house and can often be integrated into the wall or a part of the total woodwork. The custom made interior gives a good background to modern or antique pieces.

 But is it easy to buy something that you do not see? The times have changed and you do not need to go to a carpenter to make a custom made interior. There are companies on the market which have showrooms where you can see and touch the products. This is the most important part while selecting a company to work with. Please remember that a picture doesn’t present the quality. These companies have an experience to advise you well and they work with the newest 3D programs to make very realistic design for you. The process is very comfortable and allows imagining the whole interior of the house. It is in the benefit of these companies to visualize the product to you as close as possible to avoid any misunderstandings. If you are choosing for a good company there will be no doubt about the final result.

But is this expensive?  This depends on the company you are choosing for. A single carpenter company tends to be expensive as he/she has a small capacity and the materials and fixed cost are similar to ones of the big company. Our research shows that the medium size company is the best qua price and services offered.


 The prices of the custom made furniture vary but with the market being quite competitive the custom made furniture tends to be similar in prices to good quality furniture. The times have changed and with growth popularity of custom made interiors there are good and affordable companies on the market.

 What is a good custom building company? There are a lot of choices on the market but not all of them offer a true custom made products. Some companies are working with ready modules so the size is strongly defined. These modules are placed together oven with usage of extra fitting and they tend to look like they come in parts. Some of the companies work with ready elements like doors which as well have defined moldings or sizes. With a true custom building company the options are free the sizes of the door is defined by the space and etc. There are some price differences with use more standard moldings or if you want to have specially copied difficult molding but at the end the furniture should look like one whole piece and be well fitted in. A professional company builds the projects in the workshop first and then fits it into your interior in 1-2 days. It is not a custom to be busy for days especially if you already live at your home.
